The Best that South Beach has to Offer

From one-of-a-kind architecture to incredible nightlife, South Beach lives up to its reputation as one of the world’s most captivating destinations. There are so many things to do, see, and experience here that you could visit for a month and still not scratch the surface.

That’s why the team here at the Albion Miami Beach has listed a few of our favorite destinations below – to help you create an itinerary for exploring the city. Best of all? Lincoln Road Mall and Miami Beach Shopping

For a real sense of the energy of South Beach, spend some time on this promenade, which is pedestrian-only and stretches between and Washington Avenue and Alton Road. Home décor and art take center stage in the boutiques here on Lincoln Road; stroll down nearby Ocean Drive, Collins Avenue and Washington Avenue for designer fashion and accessories.

New World Center

The New World Center is home of the renowned New World Symphony, as well as the groundbreaking WALLCAST™ Concert concept. Through a 7,500 square-foot projection wall on the eastern front of the NWC building, guests can experience performances within the NWC, as well as a movie series during the summer. Both are free and open to the public.

Miami Beach Convention Center

The Miami Beach Convention Center features both Art Deco design and state-of-the-art meeting facilities, delivering a truly unique convention experience. Located next to South Beach and the Art Deco District, the Convention Center offers 500,000 square feet of exhibition space and 70 meeting rooms, ranging in size from 500 to 20,000 square feet.

Art Deco District

Architectural history devotees will be in their element here in Miami’s Art Deco District, which has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places for over 35 years. Nowhere else in the world can you find such a large collection of Art Deco architecture, built in the 1920s, 30s, and early 40s.

Wolfsonian Museum

Part of Florida International University, the Wolfsonian Museum houses an eclectic collection of art objects spanning the Industrial Age of 1885-1945. Exhibits explore the role that art and design play in shaping human thought and experiences. Art objects on display at Wolfsonian include industrial and decorative art, furniture, books, and paintings.

Design District

Originally known as Buena Vista, this vibrant district is a mecca for the arts and fashion. Stop by for Art & Design Night every second Saturday of the month to tour the area’s many excellent galleries.

Duck Tours

See the city in a whole new way on a Duck Tour! Departing South Beach and winding through the city’s most famous landmarks before heading right into Biscayne Bay, these tours enable you to experience South Beach and Miami from a completely different perspective.

The Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater

After multi-million dollar transformation, The Fillmore Miami Beach at The Jackie Gleason Theater has established itself as one of the top venues in South Florida for live concerts and entertainment. The Fillmore attracts global headline acts in music, comedy, and much more.

Colony Theater

This stunning Art Deco theater has been open for 80 years, and is home to a range of entertainment programs – from film to opera and performance art. Even if you don’t attend an event here, you should definitely stroll by and marvel at its marvellous façade.

Ocean Drive

No visit to South Beach is complete without a stroll down Ocean Drive – the focal point of the Art Deco District, and home to a vast array of preserved architecture, as well as to the world-famous Versace Mansion.

Miami City Ballet

One of the country’s largest ballet companies, the MCB is based throughout South Florida, as well as in Collier County on the west coast. It has been dazzling audiences with its performances for 30 years.

Miami Beach Golf Club

One known as Bayshore, this recently renovated golf club is now one of Miami Beach’s top destinations for golfers of all skill levels.

Rubell Family Collection

Founded in New York over 50 years ago by Don and Mera Rubell after they were first married, the RFC has resided in Miami since 1993, and has been open to the public since 1994. In the late 1990s, the Contemporary Arts Foundation (CAF) was created to expand the RFC’s public mission; it includes an internship program, among many other things.

Jungle Island

Founded as “Parrot Jungle” in the 1930s, this interactive zoo and theme park features a 90-minute guided safari tour, as well as the popular “Lemur Experience”.  Jungle Island is open every day, including holidays; special events and shows are posted on the park’s website.

Nikki Beach

Nikki Beach Miami is one of the city’s top nightclubs, and has been for years. It includes an outdoor beach club, a restaurant, and a nightclub. Chill out during the day in one of the private cabanas, or treat yourself to VIP bottle service in the club at night.
